01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Just past the hostel entrance on a Nihonbashi Bakurocho street corner, Cafe&Bar HIVE has the welcoming, open atmosphere of an international lobby lounge. Guests simply pass the front check-in desk and place their order at the back counter first, making it an easy drop-in spot whether you need a quick lunch between tasks or a leisurely breather during an afternoon stroll.

Pasta and Sandwiches for Every Mood

The food menu centers on reasonably priced pastas, featuring comforting staples such as Neapolitan spaghetti generously blanketed in torched cheese, or carbonara enriched with a poached egg. Sauce variations run deep, from mascarpone tomato sauce with shrimp and broccoli to a Japanese dashi-infused genovese tossed with green beans and potatoes. For those after a lighter bite, classic sandwiches like the BLT and egg sandwich make it easy to tailor your order to your appetite and schedule.

Roaster-Selected Beans and Relaxed Downtime

The coffee program uses beans roasted by TRANSIT COFFEE ROASTERS in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. From meticulously brewed drip coffee and Americanos to milk-based lattes, mochas, matcha lattes, and hojicha lattes, both hot and iced drinks are well represented. Pairing a cup with a slice of cheesecake or chocolate cake makes for a pleasant cafe break, and with Wi-Fi available, it also serves as a dependable corner to open a laptop. Takeout is available as well, ideal for picking up a drink to accompany a neighborhood walk or take back to the office.
